FixC is a Helsinki-based independent artist co-operative launched in April 2007 to generate, distribute and promote video art, media art and experimental cinema, to produce curated touring exhibitions, and to arrange screenings.
The collaboration with the Cartes Flux festival is the finale of FixC+, a touring screening event organized by the FixC cooperative. FixC+ was presented in 2010 in the Norrtälje Konsthall in Sweden, at the Crosstalk Video Art Festival in Budapest, Hungary, and at the Surpass Festival in Portbou, Spain.
FixC participates in the Cartes Flux festival with an extensive program: TV monitors in the WeeGee foyer feature three pieces: Seppo Renvall’s Snadeja stooreja stadista presents Aslak Kristianson’s Helsinki stories with Renvall’s uncompromising visuals; Juha van Ingen’s Hyperloops exercise the viewers’ optic nerves in subtle ways; and Jarkko Räsänen’s Horizon for TV presents a salute to classical analogue video. The WeeGee cabinet features Like Consciousness, the latest two-channel video installation by Rita Jokiranta.
There is also a FixC screening, which includes Erkka Nissinen’s international festival hit Vantaa, a musical journey that makes one very hungry, especially after listening to the compositions of Karlheinz Stockhausen; and a winner of the Kettupäivät Film Festival, A Life Of Ones Own, the story of a lonely journey to the unseen future by Kari Yli-Annala.
FixC participates also in the Alternative Party with a set of space-themed video loops. The loops include Maria Duncker’s brand new Tuning Out where a space voyage starts from below the surface.

Snadeja stooreja stadista (Helsinki stories), 2008
"Snadeja stooreja stadista" is a six-part series of short films Renvall has made to songs about Helsinki written by Aslak Kristiansson. The songs are stories about life from the streetwise perspective, echoes of local culture from the former working-class district of Kallio.

Horizon for TV – Installation, 2009
Comprising a television set and an upside-down VHS camera, the installation creates an endless real-time continuum. The technical properties of the equipment generate a horizon on the monitor which also reacts to the audience.

Hyperloops 2009-2010
Juha van Ingen’s hyperloops consist of series of images that are repeated several times per second. In the viewer’s eyes, the fast-paced hypnotic flow of images becomes a new dimension.

The first FixC + event was held 26.-27.2.2010 in Norrtälje Konsthall. The program included Installations and visuals + music by FixC members and a screening Out of the Open with invited guests selected from FixC OPEN.
The second event FIXATION happened 2.6.-8.6. in D-udvar gallery Budapest as apart of Crosstalk video art festival with Installations and loops by Seppo Renvall, Rita Jokiranta, Juha van Ingen, Kari Yli-Annala and Maria Duncker + screening Out of OPEN + party on the opening night 2.6.
In Portbou Spain 27.-28.8. FixC+ was hosted by Surpas festival . The program included Performance, DIY live art by Juha van Ingen,
Film1999, experimental film by Seppo Renvall with live music
by Aikahai and a Fixation screening with FixC members and guests.
